About this landfill
Juniper Ridge Landfill is a publicly owned landfill in Old Town, Penobscot County, Maine. It is operated by Casella Waste Systems, Inc.. The site opened in 1997 and is expected to keep accepting waste until about 2034. It took in about 933,811 tons of waste in 2022, making it the largest reporting landfill in Maine by volume.
